12/12/2007 - Owing to Swanturbines' rapid expansion, we will be moving to the Digital Technium in Singleton Park early in the new year.  The Digital Technium is a state-of-the-art building based in the centre of the University of Wales Swansea.  The network of Techniums across Wales provides young companies, in knowledge-based industries, with incubation facilities in the form of premises, as well as business and technical support, and is linked with leading specialist academic expertise.

1/11/2007 - This month sees another new member on the design team.  Namely Ioan Smallwood, from north Wales. Ioan has experience with Vestas wind turbines and brings valuable field expertise to the team.

1/10/2007 - The design team welcomes Mr Nick Lawrence, an electrical engineer, who has moved back to Wales, to assist with the design of the medium-scale turbine.   Nick's 20 years of experience in underwater instrumentation and control systems cover a broad range of projects and applications, including many within the offshore energy industry.

26/02/2007 - Work has begun on CYGNET Stage 1. This is a project to demonstrate the technology at a medium scale part funded by the UK Department of Industry. Swanturbines Ltd would like to congratulate all the parties involved on this success.

21/12/2006 - Swanturbines welcomes Dr Miles Willis to the team as site development manager. Miles will be overseeing the consenting and environmental impact assessments for the CYGNET demonstrator. He has experience in the management of Multidisciplinary Collaborative Industrial Research Projects and is a keen conservationist.

15/12/2006 - The company is pleased to welcome Mr Rob Ellis to the team. Rob has been appointed as project manager for the CYGNET project. He has vast experience in project management in technology development roles, including the installation of offshore meteorological masts and suction caisson foundations. He has also been involved in the design and manufacture of tidal turbine blades.

12/08/2006 - The fund raising round for the CYGNET demonstrator project is now open. Investors please contact us for information.

24/05/ 2006 - Swanturbines will be attending All Energy 2006 in Aberdeen. Please come and approach us with any queries.

02/02/2006 - Swanturbines will be presenting at Marec2006 at the World Maritime Technology Conference on 09/03/06.

24/12/2005 – A new partner is to join the existing Swanturbines consortium to undertake fabrication and assembly of the planned demonstrator unit. Ledwood Engineering, based in Pembroke Dock, will join the team to work on the manufacturing and installation of the medium-scale device. Ledwoods have a wealth of experience in offshore and marine work.

24/03/2005 – Swanturbines are pleased to welcome Matthew Thomson to the team. Matthew has been appointed as project engineer on the feasibility study. He is a chartered engineer who has spent time in the steel production industry. He also worked as a nuclear safety and reliability engineer for WS Atkins. Before joining the project he undertook a Masters in tidal stream technology.

20/12/2004 - Swanturbines has been successful in securing the Knowledge Exploitation Fund support for the £350k collaborative industrial research project. The team of 9 industrial partners with undertake a feasibility study over 16 months to investigate and optimise their tidal stream turbine system.
